The Third Person Switch
To talk about another person, we change the verb and the possessive. Compare how we talk about ourselves and how we talk about him or her.
| Topic | Talking about me | Talking about him / her |
|---|---|---|
| Name | My name is... | His name is... / Her name is... |
| Age | I am... | He is... / She is... |
| Quantity | I have two children. | He has... / She has... |
| Location | I live in... | He lives in... / She lives in... |
Remember: with he and she, many verbs add -s. Example: I live in Medellín. She lives in Medellín.
